Guy w sportoatGuy T. Wehman – The host of “Sun Coast Live” being aired weekdays at 3:00p ET is a native Buckeye with over 17 years of broadcast experience and is happy to be part of the WENG family. He has worked in the Cleveland, Akron and Canton, Ohio markets and has come to Florida by way of Oklahoma where he worked with Bartlesville Radio (a four station group) where he hosted “Majesty and Praise” on KYFM and was the producer of “Friday Night Lights” – the weekly football games for KWON Sports.

While in Ohio, Guy hosted a daily talk-show program for The Furnace Street Mission, and developed a late night talk-show Nightbeat Radio. He attended Moody Bible Institute and later received his Masters Degree in Music Theory & Composition from The University of Akron. Guy has scored and produced over 50 albums, conducted orchestras in sessions and on the stage, produced award winning jingles and scored two independent films.

Music and more… Guy has been Director of Music at a few, albeit large, churches including the 10,000 member Chapel In University Park in Akron, OH with pastor Dr. David Burnham. Under Guy’s leadership, the choir of 125 and orchestra of 20 performed regularly. Guy has taught school and was the Director of Bands at Garfield High School with the “Professor” Eugene Rohrbough as his Assistant Director. While directing the band, they received best in show at marching band shows, standing ovations in their concerts, took the Concert Band to contest and the Jazz Band to the prestigious Lakeland Jazz Festival and started their own spring jazz festival called “Jazz on the Lawn”! He also taught music theory at the University of Akron.

Associations and Awards… Guy has been a member of the marketing committee for GAMA, which is the governing body for the ASO, Akron Symphony Orchestra, a member and on the board of directors for the AAF Akron, Advertising Club of Akron, Ohio; YMTF,  Youth Motivation Task Force; a member of ASCAP, American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers; recipient of several Silver Microphone Awards, recipient of The Silver Acorn Award – given by the Akron Council PTA, recipient of the Upgrade Award by GIMBO, Garfield Instrumental Music Booster Organization and ‘nominated’ for ‘Teacher Of The Year’ at Garfield High School. Guy was commissioned by the Concert Band of M.I.T. (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)… the piece titled “Patriot Theme and Fanfare” was premiered in Boston on the campus of M.I.T.. Guy is presently a member of AAF Cleveland, the Advertising Club of Cleveland, Ohio and AAF Tulsa, the Advertising Club of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Guy was married for 25 years before his wife passed away in June of 2001. Guy has two children – a son and a daughter. His hobbies are photography, traveling, walking/hiking, motorcycling, golf, movies, volunteering on the Polar Express.
